During the reconstruction of the Square in 2003-2004, the Square’s entrances were converted from two five-feet wide entrances to three eight-feet wide entrances. The new entrances were located near curb-cuts at intersections to better accommodate wheelchairs. Four cut-outs were created within the bench lines allowing for a single wheelchair to be at rest immediately adjacent to a bench so that a person using a wheelchair may be seated next to a person sitting on a bench. The pathways are eight-feet at their narrowest, allowing more than adequate space for wheelchair maneuverability. Even the small lawn is wheelchair accessible.
